Connection’s Winchester signs 3-month loan deal with Vietnam’s Song Lam Nghe An

Connection’s Winchester signs 3-month loan deal with Vietnam’s Song Lam Nghe AnTeenaged W Connection striker Shahdon Winchester has signed a three month loan deal with Vietnam’s 2011 V-League Champions Song Lam Nghe An joining former ‘Savonetta Boys’ teammate Hughton Hector who is also on loan to the Vinh City club.

Winchester, a prominent member of the T&TEC Olympic squad, arrived in Vietnam on December 30th—a few days before the close of the international transfer window and signed his loan contract on January 2nd.

According to a release by the Couva based Connection, the 19 year old standout will remain at Song Lam until the end of March 2012.

The release went on to explain; “Although he was offered a longer loan contract, W Connection opted to shorten the deal as there are intentions to move the player into the European or American markets during the next transfer window where he has already had trial offers.

This short term deal will be catalyst to a window of future opportunities.”

This is the first move for Winchester who joined the David John-Williams owned club at age 8 and has played his youth and professional football.

Winchester is expected to play his first game with Song Lam over the upcoming weekend while W Connection will be in action against rivals San Juan Jabloteh from 8pm on Friday at the Larry Gomes Stadium in the second match of the Digicel Pro League Championship Round Two Match Day Four Super Friday double header.
