Trinidad and Tobago international Clyde Leon has joined T&TEC FC on a one year deal after opting not to renew his contract with W Connection—the club he joined back in 2003.
The 27 year old midfielder contract with Connection expired following the 2010-2011 TT Pro League season and made the switch a month ago joining the Super League champs.
T&TEC is new to the Pro League and Leon sees his switch as a new challenge in his career.
“It’s a new chapter in my career,” he said. “I achieved things with W Connection and there were new challenges. (Now this is a new challenge for me. They are a new franchise in the Pro League and I’m looking forward to helping them achieve success in the Pro League,” Leon said. “My aim is to help T&TEC challenge the bigger teams in the League and hopefully I can also keep my form intact so I can maintain a place in the national team.”
Leon who had trials abroad with English clubs Birmingham City and Oldham Athletic during his career, has 38 appearances for the T&T Senior Team and captained the team in 2010 during the Digicel Caribbean Cup.
“The training with the national team in this offseason has been good for me and of course the focus will be gelling with the rest of the players at my new club,” ended the T&T midfielder.
