Fenwick predicts another Final for Jabloteh

Fenwick predicts another Final for JablotehFour-time Toyota Classic finalists and 2008 winners San Juan Jabloteh eyes another Final and head coach Terry Fenwick is confident of defeating rivals Ma Pau SC in Friday’s second semi-final clash from 8pm at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

The 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Toyota Classic finalist had four previous meetings with Ma Pau this season winning two, losing one on a technicality and suffering a 1-0 defeat in Round One of the Digicel Pro League Championship.

In their first meeting Jabloteh enjoyed a kicks from the penalty spot 4-2 win following a 1-1 draw in the quarterfinal round of the Lucozade Sport Goal Shield and the most recent a 1-0 win in Round Two.

“I think we will win again (against Ma Pau) and go on to the Toyota Final,” said Fenwick.

Fenwick promised Friday’s match to be a good one for his side adding, “We are in good form at the moment. This season we have outplayed every local club even if the results weren’t in our favour on occasions.”

The former England international used Tuesday’s Toyota Classic victory over W Connection as an example saying, “We outplayed Connection and if it wasn’t for the unprecedented seven to eight minutes of injury time played we would have won the match comfortably.”

Jabloteh led Connection 2-0 with goals by Karlon Murray and Johan Peltier after ninety minutes, but a pair of injury time goals by Hughton Hector leveled the scores 2-2 sending the match into kicks from the penalty spot. In the end Jabloteh finished 5-4 winners.

Fenwick will be without suspended defender Karlon Murray who picked up a red card in Tuesday’s win while there is doubt surrounding defender Joel Leslie Russell who picked up an ankle injury during the match which forced him out.

However Fenwick remains confident in his defence adding, “We’ve mixed and matched at the back in recent games and players like Anton Hutchinson and Christan Thomas have done excellent holding various positions so we are confident.”

Defender Jamal Jack, who missed the last two games, is expected back into the squad for Friday’s semi-final clash.

Toyota Classic will begin from 6pm with the first semi-final clash between Joe Public’s Super League outfit against DIRECTV North East Stars.
